Overall, Juniper had a great week. Zach's mom came to visit and Juni loved play time with Grandma! Her check-up with the orthopedist was another good report. We will get another x-ray in another 3 months to make sure her hip bone growth continues in the right direction. With the support of Daddy, she took her first steps! Zach was standing behind her and holding her up as I got ready for the bath and she walked herself half way down the hallway and back! She drank out of a glass like a big girl! She is a rolly polly machine. She loves to tuck and roll around and discover new ways to contort her little body. I feel like we just put her into 6 month size clothes with plenty of room to grow and now her feet are stretching out the bottom of them. She has transitioned herself from 3 naps a day to 2 naps a day most of the time. Her bedtime is changing a little too. I'm still trying to figure it out, but we'll get there!

28 weeks
We had family pictures taken for the first time this week. Juniper was a trooper as the shoot didn't start til 515pm and she normally starts her bath/bedtime routine at 6pm. We didn't get home until 7, but she was wiped out and went to sleep fairly quickly. We are so excited to get the pictures back. It looked like the photographer got some really great shots. In preparation for the shoot Mommy had lots to do, so Juniper went along for shopping. Mommy took a blanket with and then put it on the floor for Juni to play on while Mommy tried on clothes. Then, once the shopping was done, Juni sat on Mommy's lap while Mommy got a pedicure. That day really made Mommy realize just how far we've come in the last couple of months and made Mommy so thankful that she is able to have some "normalcy" again.
Juni is sitting up on her own all the time now. She loves to bend over and pick toys up and then sit back up. Just last week she would do this and then really struggle to sit back up, but this week she didn't seem to have any problem. She is more comfortable now just laying or sitting on her own for longer periods of time. She is entertained by anything and everything she can get her hands on. It is so fun to watch her learn.

Juniper is SIX months old!!
We aren't over the tummy troubles yet, but we are much closer than we were last week! It amazes me how long the particles stay in my body and transfer into my breast milk. I wish it would hurry up and leave already! Juni is getting some sleep, but still isn't anywhere near back to her normal patterns yet. I'm sure her pattern will be completely different by the time she gets back to it, but she is still waking up and crying out from the gas and tummy pains. It puts me right back at the place where I am afraid to eat anything, but I'm doing my best to just keep checking labels, and eating as much fresh food as possible to lessen the risk of contamination from "safe" boxed and packaged products.
Juniper discovered she likes the taste of paper last week and rediscovered it again this week. She found Daddy's work papers last week and a piece of cardboard packaging this week and took a bite out of each. I think she would eat it all if we didn't stop her. She has also discovered cars. When we take her outside she loves to watch them zoom down the street. She follows each one, side to side, so intently. She is getting better and better at sitting up on her own. Yesterday she sat on her play mat the whole time I made my breakfast and ate. She did wobble a little, but she reached out for her toys and stabilized herself.
There were just too many cute pictures this week :) I couldn't narrow it down any more!

This week has been sad. Mommy bought a new box of crackers and a new box of granola bars for herself at Target that were supposed to safe, but something in them wasn't, even though the labels said they were okay. Juniper is so sensitive that even food made on the same line as unsafe products will make her sick. Mommy is now pretty much convinced that anything in a box is bad. So, it has been a rough week for Juniper with trouble sleeping, tummy pains, lots of gas, lots of bad poo poo, and a sore bottom. However, she is a trooper and is getting through it.
She has started blowing lots of bubbles this week and spent lots of time rolling around. She loves to caress Mommy and Daddy's faces and baby kiss our cheeks. She is so aware of her world and her Mommy and Daddy. She gets so excited when she has been with one of us for the day and then the other will come home from work. She just lights up and is so happy to have us both by her side.

Although Juni has enjoyed chewing on her toes over the last few weeks, this week she can't seem to stop. In the bath, in her swing, laying on the floor, sitting on our laps, she just wants to get her toes into her mouth. She is beginning to have longer and more dynamic conversations and is expanding her range of tones and sounds every day. Daddy and Mommy both had moments this week where they saw the other person holding Juni and couldn't believe how tall Juni was. We still imagine her to be this itty bitty 8 week old baby. The last 6 months have flashed before our eyes.
