Oh my little nugget.....noodle....sweet pea, a year and half has past us by already. I'm trying not to be too emotional about this. Being so excited for the days ahead helps, but I just want to SLOW it all down.
We've started a kindermusik class on Thursday mornings to get in a little interaction time with kids her own age. She loves dancing and singing and using all the different instruments. Now, whenever I put on music at home, she runs to her toy box and digs out all her instruments so that she can play and dance along.
We are taking this session off of swim since our favorite teacher wasn't teaching any classes on the days we were available. We will most likely return for next session, but we will see when the time comes.
Some of Juni's new favorite words include car, truck, good girl, giraffe, and knee. The past month or two she randomly pops out small sentences and phrases on her own, rather than just mimicking. Her speech continues to be emphatic.
New animal sounds include bee, snake, bear, and lion. We've also taught her that Mama (and Papa) say, "Muah!" A few extra kisses always make the day better.
She still loves adventure and exploration. She continues to enjoy touching the different flowers, trees, rocks, and leaves she finds outside. Any lip in the sidewalk or step on the side or incline of a driveway, she wants to go up and down to make sure she has the whole thing figured out.
Her independence is enveloping her. She has lost interest in the big girl potty for now. For a few days, if we took off her panties and then allowed her to go in to the bathroom on her own, she would oblige, but those days are gone for now too. So, we will take a break, and then try again. We really weren't expecting to start so early, but Juni asked to go potty and then was doing so great, we just kept going along with it. So, we'll follow her lead, and pull back a little.
Her favorite foods of the month include apples, guacamole, mushrooms, and raspberries.
Although she still enjoys running to and fro and staying on the go, she has had more still moments these past few weeks. She will want to just sit on my lap for a few minutes or just lay her head on my shoulder and cuddle.
I cherish the busy moments and the still moments too, as I watch my baby girl grow and grow. I keep asking her, "When did you get so big?!" I keep feeling like she is such a big girl, and then I look back at the last stage and realize how little she was the last time I thought that.
Mama's favorite moments: Whenever I say, "Show my your pretty face," Juni looks at me and smiles. :) I don't know how it happened, or how it started, but I love it!!
sweeping with Papa while Mama is at work
playing with toilet paper
I know you gave me pretzels, Mama, but I want Papa's cereal. I tried to pour it into my bowl like a big girl!
climbing
brushing teeth
peeling the stickers off of great-grandpa's letter to stick on her shirt, here, there, and everywhere
...and climbing some more
