Vallejo, CA

Every since we were in Hawaii we were dealing with phone calls from our rental company about a leak in the unit below us. They suspected it was caused by our washing machine, which it wasn't, but they were freaked out by all the water damage they had discovered, were scared of potential leaks, and asked us to remove it from the unit, even though they admitted our lease stated no such restriction. We complied, begrudgingly, and were left to use the coin operated, poorly maintained, not-so-great machines downstairs.

We've been wanting more space for our growing Juniper than our current one bedroom has to offer, and this whole ordeal just lit a fire under us to get moving and find a place. We ended up finding a 3 bedroom unit that is the ground level of a Victorian house in the historical district of Vallejo. Zach will now have a space to use as his office when he is working from home and will will have a bit more space for Juni's toys and clothes, etc.

Knowing that we are paying more in rent for a one bedroom apartment than most all of our family and friends pay for a mortgage payment is a bit defeating, but we do like it here. Vallejo is about 30 minutes north of our pretty little island of Alameda. Our house is still only 1 mile from the water, so temperatures will still be mild year round. Vallejo is a much more affordable area, as far as houses are concerned, so if we do decide we are ready to purchase a house out here, and we like Vallejo, it could be a good match for our family.

We are in our current apartment until April 12th, but we have quite a bit of overlap, so we will slowly be moving over the next 3 weeks.
