34 weeks

Juni's favorite times this week involved switching toys from one hand to the other, eating lots and lots of pumpkin, and trying to play with the remote control and every cord she could find. Juni's least favorite times this week included waking up too many times in the night, not being allowed to play with all the cords she found, and getting sad every time she wasn't within reaching distance of Mommy or Daddy. She now loves to laugh and huff air through her nose and make a silly face while doing so. It is so cute I try to get her to do it all the time! You can see it in the 4th picture below :)

33 weeks

Juni army crawled for the first time on Thanksgiving! She has been scooting a little here and there, but she hasn't quite gotten the full hang of it yet. Zach and I put up the tree on Thanksgiving too, and she is in love with it. She has always loved to feel and watch the leaves outside, so having a tree in her living room, with lights on it, is pretty fantastic.

32 weeks

Winter is coming, well, California winter. The temperature dropped this week to low 60s and quite a bit of rain, for around here. Juni is at the tail end of her cold. All her symptoms are gone except a small lingering cough that should be completely gone in a day or two. She has been pretty mellow this week as she's been recovering. We went to a friend's house for lunch on Sunday and she did pretty well. We went for a driving tour of their neighborhood, so she took her nap while we were in the car, but then woke up when we stopped, a bit too early. She slept again on the way home to make up for it so bedtime still went as planned. She is friendly to all those she sees. When Zach brings her to my work to eat she smiles at everyone and gets excited when people talk to her. She makes friends everywhere she goes.

31 weeks

This week has been up and down. I have been quite sick, but Juniper was quite sweet and happy each day I was sick, so she made it pretty easy to get through the day taking care of her. Now, at the start of this week, I am much much better and Juni is getting sick. She has a stuffy nose and an awful cough with a small fever. She is also still have tummy troubles, but through most of the day she is still quite happy. She cries out in her sleep and isn't able to really sink into the deep sleep she needs, but we are getting through day by day. My mom arrived on Saturday and Juni has had lots of fun being entertained by everyone and getting lots of extra attention. She is examining her hands and toys in a whole new way. She twists and turns them and watches as she learns all the things they are capable of doing. She continues to be a rolly polly and loves to roll and roll every which way around the living room floor. The blue snuggle suit in the first couple of pictures is one my mom made for me when I was a baby. Juni loved being all cozy in it while we went for a walk one chilly day.

30 weeks 14 pounds (unofficially)

Juni has had some trouble sleeping through the night this week, but otherwise everything has been great! We've had lots of fun together as a family, going for lots of walks and to the farmers market. On Halloween we dressed her up as Chicken Little and went down the street to where kids were trick-or-treating at local businesses and just sat on a bench with her in her costume. We were able to see all the other little kids in their costumes and everyone was able to see Juni and tell us how cute she looked. :) Juni had rice cereal for the first time this week. The Dr. supported waiting until she was 6 months old to give her solids because of her Milk Soy Protein Intolerance. It is also recommended that you don't introduce anything new to an MSPI baby when they are having a reaction already because you wouldn't know if there was a reaction to the new food or if it was still the other food that was already in their system. So, with the trials of the last few weeks we had been waiting and waiting for things to clear up and were so happy when they finally did.
She has been filled with joy this week and has just had fun playing and laughing and taking in the world. This week she started interlocking her fingers with mine when she holds my hand. She is just so sweet she makes my heart melt.
We had a scary moment this week on one of our walks. We had taken the back way to Walgreens to pick up Juniper's prescription and we were walking around the back across where the drive-thru pharmacy lanes start when a guy that had been pulled up in one of the lanes threw his car in reverse and gunned the gas while swerving backwards. I tried to anticipate which direction to move the stroller and Zach was YELLING for him to stop as he moved towards the vehicle to hopefully catch the driver's eye, but the driver didn't hear and was going straight for us at a pretty high speed. In utter terror, with the SUV 4 feet or less from us, I let out the most guttural, mama bear, vibrato filled scream and the SUV came to a screeching halt. He stuck his head out the window and apologized. He was switching drive-thru lanes and had not seen us at all. Why he was in such a hurry to switch drive-thru lanes I'm still not sure. I think I was shaking for twenty minutes afterward, but all was well in the end. I stopped for a few minutes to kiss my baby before we went inside. She was still just as happy as could be.
