After having a few peaks and valleys with potty training since Juni was 17 months old, it seemed like she was really, really ready. We were still searching and searching for a new place and didn't know how long it would be until we moved, so we decided to dive in, full force. Juni was definitely ready and did a great job of telling us when she needed to go, but wasn't quite ready for the big public potties, so we just brought little ones along with us in the car. I think we started in September, and then found a place to move just a couple of weeks later. Thank goodness she was really ready because she did so amazingly well through the move, the visit back to Nebraska, and adjusting to the new house. Knock on wood, I don't even remember her last accident.
Grandma Candy graciously came to help us with Juni during the move. It was so nice to know Juni was loved and taken care of so Zach and I could just go, go, go. We were supposed to have two weeks of overlap with the old and new place, but with the way things worked out, one of those weeks turned out to be when we had our tickets home to Nebraska. Grandma brought snacks, including Halloween Oreos, which Juni was an instant fan of :) With me being pregnant, there was no way we could do the move on our own this time, so we hired movers and got it all to the new place in one expensive day, and then Grandma did a ton to help us clean up the old place in one more day so we could be finished with everything before our Halloween trip home.
There are very few things we will miss about Vallejo. Our neighbors Hannah and Geoff are the biggest. Juni and Hannah were quick friends and Hannah was so, so sad to see her go. Hannah was kind enough to spend the day with Juni while the movers packed the truck and while Candy and I cleaned the place the next day. Juni had so much fun, and has already been lucky enough to have Hannah and Geoff drive all the way to babysit her while Zach and I went to his work Christmas party Sunday night, and Hannah will come back again on Wednesday night, while we are at the baby class. Our first California babysitters, and twice in one week!
Juni enjoying the big stack of boxes. Yes, we needed all of them, and more. Insanity. Thank goodness Zach's job is next door to the company's warehouse!
